I have been in the Whitsundays and working in the charter industry for a couple of years now, and the only complaint we get is " that banging noise all night". That noise is the HARD PLASTIC mooring bouy banging on the hull. It is so loud, it feels like Phil Collins is drumming on board. 

Tides and Wind

Origin of the bang

  • On a changing tide or swirling wind ( frequent in the Whitsundays ) the mooring buoy float directly against the side of the hull, creating a steady thudding sound. 
  • Rolling Swells: Certain bays experience rolling swells where the boat rocks and the mooring slaps the hull.
A SIMPLE DEVICE

We made a device as simple as 2 clips to install. It is light weight (>1kg)

Every part of the Sleep Moore is sourced in Australia. It is assembled and designed right here in the Whitsundays. 

Public moorings belong to GBRMPA. Sleep Moore has authorization to rent and use cuffs  in the Whitsundays Marine Park.
